Version 0.8.6 - Release Notes
CubeForge 0.8.6 begins a new partnership with CardNexus, bringing regional marketplace prices and direct purchase links into card details.
CardNexus and CubeForge have a lot in common.
Both platforms are built to make the practical side of collecting and playing card games easier. CubeForge focuses on designing, managing, and drafting Magic cubes, while CardNexus brings collection tracking, buying, selling, and marketplace tools together in one place.
That shared outlook made a partnership feel natural. Version 0.8.6 is the first visible result: CardNexus marketplace prices are now available directly inside CubeForge.
🤝 A new CardNexus partnership
When you open a card's details and select Buy, CubeForge now shows the lowest active CardNexus listing price for that exact printing and finish.
Europe and the United States / North America are shown separately, with prices in EUR and USD. Each region also includes its current listing count and available quantity when CardNexus provides them. The displayed price comes from cards actually listed on the CardNexus marketplace, rather than a Cardmarket or TCGplayer reference price.
The selected finish stays important. Nonfoil, foil, and etched versions are kept separate, so a foil price will not be presented as though it belongs to a nonfoil card. If the selected finish has no listings but another finish does, CubeForge points to the available alternative and links its regional prices directly.
Prices and availability may change by the time you check out.
This CardNexus price is an additional option inside individual card details. CubeForge's overall cube-price totals will continue to rely on TCGplayer pricing for the foreseeable future.
💜 CubeForge stays free and ad-free
CubeForge remains entirely free to use and ad-free. The CardNexus partnership does not put ads into the cube editor or move existing features behind a subscription.
All links from CubeForge to CardNexus, including the links in this article and the card-details Buy tab, are affiliate links. If you sign up or make a qualifying purchase after following one, CubeForge may receive a commission from CardNexus.
For CubeForge, this is the best balance: these links can help cover some of the development and server costs without charging users or filling the site with display advertising. If CardNexus is useful to you, using a CubeForge link is a direct way to support the project—thank you!
📦 CardNexus inventory sync is next
An even deeper integration is already in progress. Soon, the goal is to let you connect your CardNexus inventory with CubeForge and synchronize the cards you own.
That should make it much easier to compare a real collection with a cube: see which cards are already owned, which ones are still missing, and keep that ownership information up to date without maintaining the same inventory by hand in two different places.
The exact experience is still being worked on, but showing the right marketplace offer for the right card version is an important first step toward connecting the two collections.
✨ Faster card hover previews
This release also makes card hover previews appear more reliably. CubeForge now prioritizes the first card image, keeps an informative placeholder visible while it loads, and upgrades to a larger Scryfall image when available.
If you find a bug or a card that looks wrong, please report it here or let me know in the CubeForge Discord.
