Can Cowboys and Outlaws still be fun?

Having set down MTG for most of my 20s, only to return to the beloved Planes shortly before the adventure into the Wild West, I found myself in an odd place. I was new to EDH, and enjoyed the deckbuilding that gave me, rebuilding my collection with play boosters from the LGS and putting in what I thought would fit as I rebuilt my passion for the game.

Moving my attention to my favorite format in all of MTG, the draft, I had never thought making a Cube myself would be feasible. I'm still not convinced it is, but I'm at least hoping this isn't my worst work.
I went with an emphasis on the theme that welcomed me back into the beloved cardboard, looking for cards that fit the theme first and foremost. Taking some time to look and amass what I could find, I wasn't left disappointed at all. At least not as someone who enjoys old corny cowboy shows.

I didn't want to stuff the list with bombs, but I didn't want it to feel naked either, so I decided to tackle that in a few ways. The first was to base the representation of each card reliant on it's rarity, not it's color. While not what you'd expect in a Play Booster, I think the distribution will allow for fair play. That goes in hand with my second criteria, keeping the cost to a fair and reasonable price. I want the most expensive thing to be weighing which of the 9 friends will have to sit out and ref for the evening. This list is more than just a box of play boosters off the shelf, sure, but at less than $300 you barely even need to sell a kidney for this to play with your friends.

I'm not a professional player, I'm a tepid fan at most. Magic was always about The Gathering for me, it was about the story you got to tell at the table through silly cards. This cube is a call to that sort of fan, and I'm sure my poor decisions left something broken in here for you maximalist fans. Whatever kind of MTG fan you are, I hope you enjoy this list with your friends.
