Modern Horizons 2 (MH2) is a supplemental set released in 2021 for Modern, but it also produced one of the most complex and synergy-driven Limited formats in recent years. The draft environment rewards careful lane selection, cross-archetype overlap, and strong understanding of mechanics such as Madness, Delirium, Modular, Affinity, Reanimator themes, and token strategies. Artifact dual lands provide excellent mana fixing while enabling several archetypes at once, making splashes and multicolor decks common. Unlike many Standard-era formats, raw card quality is often less important than assembling synergistic engines. Draft decks frequently branch beyond strict two-color pairs, and successful drafters benefit from recognizing when artifact, graveyard, or token themes are open. MH2 is well suited for players who enjoy intricate gameplay and high decision density.
