Master the four bending styles, rally Allies, and turn Lessons, Clues, counters, and even your lands into tools across ten two-color strategies.

Draft Avatar: The Last Airbender

Magic: The Gathering | Avatar: The Last Airbender (TLA) is a Standard-legal set released in November 2025. Its Limited environment uses all ten two-color pairs, with several themes crossing between archetypes. Firebending creates temporary red mana during combat, Airbending temporarily exiles cards, Waterbending lets creatures and artifacts help pay costs, and Earthbending turns lands into creatures with +1/+1 counters. Lessons provide another major thread through the set, while Allies, Clues, and transforming double-faced Sagas add additional synergy. A common dual-land cycle and several ramp or fixing cards make splashes possible, but two-color decks remain the natural starting point.

Archetypes

A quick reference for the main decks and strategies to look for while drafting this set cube.

Flyers

Pressure opponents with cheap flying creatures, then use interaction and team-wide boosts to turn your evasive board into a fast clock.

Draw Two

Play a controlling game and draw your second card each turn, with Clues providing both card draw and useful permanents for Waterbending.

Fire Nation Aggro

Attack aggressively with Fire Nation creatures and Firebending, then spend the temporary red mana on combat spells and activated abilities.

Earth Rumble Ramp

Use Earthbending to turn lands into increasingly large creatures and enable payoffs that care about creatures with power 4 or greater.

Allies

Go wide with Allies and Ally tokens, then profit from effects that count your Allies or trigger when more of them enter the battlefield.

Sacrifice

Combine disposable creatures and tokens with sacrifice outlets and death triggers to generate incremental value.

Combat Lessons

Fill your deck and graveyard with Lessons, then use spell synergies and combat-focused effects to maintain tempo and pressure.

+1/+1 Counters

Accumulate +1/+1 counters through Earthbending and other effects, then turn your growing creatures into efficient midrange threats.

Go-Wide Aggro

Produce Ally tokens and other small creatures, then use combat tricks and team-wide effects to overwhelm blockers.

Ramp and Lessons

Use land-searching Lessons and other ramp to get ahead on mana, then take over with expensive spells and large threats.
