Draft Rivals of Ixalan
Rivals of Ixalan is the second set of the Ixalan block, released as RIX. Its Limited environment continues Ixalan’s four faction structure: Vampires, Pirates, Merfolk, and Dinosaurs, while adding ascend and the city’s blessing as a late-game payoff. Explore, raid, enrage, Treasure, and transforming double-faced cards also return. For historical draft, Rivals was normally drafted as two Rivals of Ixalan packs plus one Ixalan pack, so a single-set cube may feel a little different. The format is still creature-focused, but Rivals gives more support to slower boards and value engines than triple Ixalan, especially through ascend, explore creatures, and tribal payoffs.
