Draft Rise of the Eldrazi
Rise of the Eldrazi (ROE) is the third set of the Zendikar block, released in 2010. Unlike the fast, aggressive Zendikar formats that preceded it, ROE was designed as a standalone triple-set draft environment focused on "battlecruiser Magic." Games are slower, mana development matters more, and many decks aim to cast enormous Eldrazi threats. The set introduces Level Up, Eldrazi Spawn, Totem Armor, and Annihilator, creating a format with numerous viable archetypes and deep strategic flexibility. Defensive creatures, mana acceleration, and card advantage are generally more important than early aggression, though dedicated tempo decks remain competitive. ROE is widely regarded as one of the most skill-testing and replayable Limited formats ever printed, rewarding both synergy and long-term planning.
