Eventide is the second set of Shadowmoor block and shifts the block’s hybrid-mana focus from allied colors to enemy colors. Historically, Eventide was drafted as the final pack of Shadowmoor / Shadowmoor / Eventide, so a standalone Eventide set cube concentrates mechanics that were originally meant to mix with Shadowmoor. The set introduces retrace, letting lands become repeatable graveyard spells, and chroma, which rewards having many mana symbols of a chosen color. It also continues wither, persist, -1/-1 counters, the untap symbol, and the block’s heavy color-matters structure. Drafting Eventide is less about traditional fixing and more about reading hybrid costs correctly: many cards can fit several decks, but the best payoffs reward committing to the right color density.
