Shadowmoor is the first set of Shadowmoor block and a major hybrid-mana Limited environment. Its original draft format was triple-Shadowmoor, making it a strong fit for a set cube that recreates the set’s first Limited experience. The set focuses on allied-color hybrid cards, color density, and flexible costs that let many picks fit multiple decks. Persist and wither define creature combat through -1/-1 counters, while conspire rewards having enough creatures of the right color to copy spells. The untap symbol appears on activated abilities, adding extra board complexity. Drafting Shadowmoor is often less about splashing and more about choosing whether to stay mono-color, move into an allied pair, or take hybrid cards that keep both paths open.
