Draft Aetherdrift
Aetherdrift (DFT) is a Standard-legal set released in February 2025, following the Ghirapur Grand Prix across Avishkar, Amonkhet, and Muraganda. Its Limited environment supports all ten two-color pairs. Start Your Engines! gives you Speed, which increases as opponents lose life on your turns and unlocks Max Speed rewards at 4. Exhaust provides powerful activated abilities that can normally be used only once per permanent, while Vehicles, Mounts, Saddle, and Cycling fill out the racing-focused environment. Despite the theme, post-release play was not simply an all-out race: board stalls were common, although cheap plays remain important because Speed decks can punish slow starts. Common two-color lands support stable two-color decks and occasional splashes.

Use Cycling and other discard outlets to trigger discard payoffs while maintaining tempo and attacking pressure.

Discard or mill expensive creatures and Vehicles, then recur or reanimate them for a strong midrange value game.
