Draft Betrayers of Kamigawa
Betrayers of Kamigawa (BOK) is the 165-card second set of the original Kamigawa block, released in February 2005. It introduced Ninjutsu, allowing blue and black Ninjas to replace unblocked attackers, while the rare Patron cycle uses Offering to trade a creature of the appropriate type for a cheaper, instant-speed threat. Betrayers also expands the block’s Spirit and Arcane synergies with ki-counter cards and another cycle of flip creatures. Historically, BOK was drafted as Champions of Kamigawa / Champions of Kamigawa / Betrayers of Kamigawa, so Soulshift, Spiritcraft, Arcane, and Bushido from Champions remain central to the format. This predates modern ten-pair archetype design: contemporary Limited writing particularly highlights White-Black Spirits and White-Blue as top decks, with Red-Green Spirits and Blue-Black Ninjas also established strategies.
