Draft Champions of Kamigawa

Champions of Kamigawa (CHK) is the 306-card first set of the original Kamigawa block, released in October 2004. Its original Limited format was CHK/CHK/CHK, with Spirits and Arcane spells forming the set’s deepest synergy network. Soulshift returns smaller Spirits from the graveyard, while Spiritcraft-style abilities trigger whenever you cast a Spirit or Arcane spell. Splice onto Arcane lets one card repeatedly add its effect to Arcane spells without leaving your hand. Samurai use Bushido to become stronger in combat, and the set also introduced flip cards and an unusually large legendary theme. Triple CHK predates modern ten-pair archetype design: contemporary Limited sources instead emphasize a few synergy-heavy decks, especially Spiritcraft, Splice, and Samurai. Green has the best fixing through Sakura-Tribe Elder and Kodama's Reach, but most decks naturally remain two colors.
