Draft Guildpact

Guildpact (GPT) is the 2006 second set of the original Ravnica block, introducing Orzhov with haunt, Izzet with replicate, and Gruul with bloodthirst. Its main historical draft environment at release was Ravnica–Ravnica–Guildpact (RRG), where the first two packs established your colors before Guildpact opened three new guild combinations. Three-color decks were common, supported by Signets, bouncelands, Terrarion, and green fixing, but focused two-color decks could exploit cleaner mana and synergy. Drafting the format rewards planning ahead: some decks use Guildpact to complement an existing Ravnica guild, while others deliberately position themselves to receive a large payoff from the final pack.

R/G Gruul Aggro

Prioritize a smooth creature curve and early damage so bloodthirst creatures enter at full size, backed by combat tricks and larger threats.

B/G/W Green-Orzhov

Use Golgari and Selesnya acceleration and durable creatures in the Ravnica packs, then add Orzhov defense, removal, and evasive threats.

Five-Color Green

Take fixing aggressively and use green as a base for powerful cards across several guilds; the payoff is high card quality, but the strategy depends on building a reliable mana base.
