Draft Ravnica: City of Guilds

Ravnica: City of Guilds (RAV) is the 2005 first set of the original Ravnica block. Before Guildpact arrived, its historical draft format was three packs of Ravnica. The set introduces four guilds: Boros with radiance, Dimir with transmute, Golgari with dredge, and Selesnya with convoke, alongside hybrid mana. Each guild supports a distinct Limited plan, but triple-Ravnica also has room for off-guild decks and multicolor builds. Common Signets, bouncelands, Farseek, Civic Wayfinder, and other fixing make splashes practical, especially for green decks, while focused Boros and Dimir decks can reward committing more heavily to their core strategy.

Build a wide board with creatures and Saproling tokens, then turn that board into mana for convoke threats or overwhelm the opponent through creature advantage.

Golgari Attrition

Trade creatures and removal early, use dredge and graveyard recursion to generate repeated value, and win longer games with durable threats.

Drake Familiar

An off-guild synergy deck that repeatedly reuses Auras such as Galvanic Arc and Flight of Fancy with Drake Familiar, often splashing additional powerful enchantments or fixing into more colors.
